Audition
I. Instruments Violin (tutti – a few vacancy)
II. Qualification Those who are judged by the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra to have artistic and personal qualifications as an orchestral player (regardless of nationality).
III. Process A. Pre-selection using documentation

B. Skills audition (1st and 2nd Rounds)

C. Interview

D. Try-out performance as an orchestral player (3rd Round)

… Those who pass A, B and C will be asked to play in the orchestra for 3 months as a trainee under a performance contract.

E. Adoption Date: August 1, 2025

2nd Round:  Tuesday, February 18, 2025

V. Repertoire [1st Round]

– W. A. Mozart / Violin Concerto No.3 in G major, K.216

– W. A. Mozart / Violin Concerto No.4 in D major, K.218

– W. A. Mozart / Violin Concerto No.5 in A major, K.219 “Turkish”
* choose one piece from above concertos

* play only 1st movement with any cadenza

– Orchestra Excerpts

[2nd Round]

– the same concerto on 1st Round

* play only 1st movement with any cadenza

VI. How to apply A. Send resume with photo and detailed musical experience list by airmail to the address below.

* Must write the title of concerto you play on 1st Round

B. If a non-Japanese resume, attach a typed resume with Japanese translation.

C. Use the resume form.

* Must be able to download as a PDF file from official website

[Deadline]  Friday, January 10, 2025

VII. Others A. Applicants must arrange for their own accompanist (However, the orchestra can introduce the accompanists).

B. Only those who pass the 1st Round will advance to the 2nd Round.

C. Orchestra Excerpts will be sent by E-mail at 12:00 pm JST on Monday, January 27 to applicants who pass the pre-selection using documentation after the application deadline.

* An appointment date and time for the audition will be also specified then

D. Resumes will be disposed of properly after auditions.
